I Majored In James Brown

After hearing Moshe Kasher on a few podcasts recently, I finally got to watch his stand-up special on Netflix. As I was watching it, I bought his book on my phone so I could read it as quickly as possible. I read it, on my phone, in two days - I would have read it in one, it was that good, but I started reading it at about 11 PM. The book is amazing - honest, hilarious, and incredibly fascinating.

The stand-up special is equally amazing, but the last six minutes are practically transcendent. My friends know that when I truly love something, my arms raise slowly into the air. My arms were all the way above my head for those six minutes. Watch the whole special, though. It’s great. I found out the other day that he had actually been in NY and I had missed his shows, which makes me sad, but hopefully that won’t happen again.

(I would also like to point out that Kasher is incredibly handsome and that I have a big ol’ crush on him. But that’s irrelevant to the rest of this.)

GUYS! This music video was done by my AMAZING friend Rachel Bloom (whom you may know from “Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury”) and I kinda helped with it! This was almost entirely filmed in my house/in my brother’s room. It was also directed by the super cool Paul Briganti! Amazing job!
